UEFA says this week’s Champions League quarter-final ties will go ahead as scheduled amid an alleged terror threat.
Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium in north London will host the first leg of the Gunners’ last-eight tie against Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening, while Manchester City are also in action away to Real Madrid.
Madrid also hosts Atletico’s game with Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, while PSG’s Parc des Princes stadium is the venue for the visit of Barcelona on the same evening in Paris.
A media outlet linked to ISIS has issued a threat concerning all four of this week’s ties, and European football’s governing body UEFA has now issued a statement on the matter.
«UEFA is aware of alleged terrorist threats made towards this week’s UEFA Champions League matches and is closely liaising with the authorities at the respective venues,» the statement said.
«All matches are planned to go ahead as scheduled with appropriate security arrangements in place.»
Sky Sports News has contacted the Metropolitan Police and the Home Office for comment.

Chelsea will face holders Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Graham Potter’s side saw off Borussia Dortmund to reach the last eight, while Madrid – managed by former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti – beat Liverpool.
Manchester City, who are unbeaten in this season’s competition, were drawn against manager Pep Guardiola’s former club Bayern Munich.
If both Chelsea and City progress, they will meet in the semi-final – a repeat of the 2021 final which Chelsea won 1-0.
The rest of the draw sees Benfica face Inter and a Serie A derby between AC Milan and Napoli.

The first legs of the quarter-finals will be played Tuesday April 11 and Wednesday April 12.
The second legs will be played Tuesday April 18 and Wednesday April 19.
