UEFA will move the Champions League final from Russian city St Petersburg on Friday due to the escalating situation in Ukraine.

The final was due to take place at the 68,000-capacity Gazprom Arena in St Petersburg on May 28 but UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has called an «extraordinary meeting» of the Executive Committee for Friday to confirm the decision to move the match.

It is unclear whether the governing body will confirm a new venue for the final.

Hey F1, take the hint and confirm that the Russian GP is off. Also, INDYCAR move your damn race from St Petersburg as well. If no one is going to bomb Putin back into the stone age let's at least make him hurt where it matters to him most; on the international stage and in the wallet.

Last years final was due to be played in the same stadium in Russia but due to covid was moved to portugal even though 2 English teams wer in final.

The man who is technically at the top of Russian football and on UEFAs top table who make the calls oh and is also top of the tree for Gazprom the biggest sponsor for the CL and was part of Zenit st Petersburg board wer the CL should have been played.
