Drifty sometimes your logic makes no sense Mane isn't even the best African in our team and you'd be the first to say you can't use team trophies to say a player is better If someone was comparing Gerrard to Scholes or Lampard this is where you expose just how nonsensically biased you can get when your attached to a player

On Mo. I agree I think Afcon and the subsequent defeat in the WC qualifier has taken a toll on him and he feels drained because of it. But in terms of rest he was hooked early at Watford, and again last night. We now have a 4-5 day down period before City. For someone as professional and physically brilliant like Mo, surely this has been enough downtime for him to bounce back? Not saying I don't think he's tired, but he is getting rest.
Also, is not playing Mo a bigger risk than playing him? If we don't start him and we don't beat City, we could look back at that and think what if potentially. Not an easy situation with him at the moment.

I love TAA but I've yet to see him spray 40 yard through balls with his weaker foot. With Xabi you couldn't tell what foot was his natural. thats why Xabi is the best long ball passer we've had modern times

On drifty’s point about the regularity of trents passes the teams Alonso and Gerrard played in had a different way of playing to the current Liverpool team so even tho Trent does do it with more regularity I think alonso and stevie could do it too if it were a specific instruction. + they take up different positions on the pitch too. Harder for Gerrard to do it at the same frequency as Trent when he played higher up the pitch than Trent in central areas for most of his career. But yeah Trent is unreal. Will retire as the goat pl right back. No right back in the prem has ever done what he is doing. If Salah scored that chance when Trent hit that pass on the turn first time under pressure in his own half that might have been his best ever assist and one of the best assists I’ve ever seen ngl.

On the alonso / gerrard and Trent debate. Matt bro you keep saying what Alonso did. Are we forgetting Trent been doing this since 18? Won champions league and prem already? Breaking assists records already????

I rest my case. 5 years more of this and he could go down as the greatest if not THE greatest Liverpool player if he wins 1 or 2 more leagues and another champions league

The bit about Trent passing more often then Gerrard, Driff it’s in his dam song! “He’ll pass the ball 40 yards” it was a decade ago since Gerrard played so of course you’re not going to remember his passing as well as Trent’s passing ability.

Not sure why the guy's are bigging up Naby so much after that showing. They said he was a 10, this is just stupid. He had a good game no more. The fact that we are so used to him stinking the place out means because he has a good game they exacerbate his rating. This is just silly. As a team we only got a semblance of control back into the game when the subs were made. Before that in the 2nd half Thiago and Naby were losing the midfield and giving the ball away recklessly which is why either or both could have been hooked imo. Now back to Naby his performance today is the LEAST I expect on a regular basis and he simply hasn't done that since he's been at Liverpool. Simples.

Thanks to Cal I'm saying "Pause" to everyone that remotely breathes …… People are side eying me, confused af since it's unknown term in Australia 😂😂

@Drift get that Kopish "Pause" merch bro, I'm keen!

Good talk guys – Especially after away European wins!👊
Couldnt help imagining some of the Benfica boys I'd like in Red. I mentioned Darwin more than a year ago & that fella Everton has the right intensity in mid as well. Oh well – dreams.😔
That mad 20mins to start 2nd half was a good test of our nerves bcz we were all over the place. Gonna need some nerves this wknd😬😁💪👊👏
The Naby talk is quite funny btwn y'all. He's our 3rd technically gifted mid after Thiago & Fab. That doesn't change fact he's quite brittle & I think we bought him not to be a glorified bench player. I'd be bummed to lose him but in his position, he's only VALUABLE if he plays at 7/8 out of 10 & "impactful" every time out.

The big one 4 me is Salah. I'm quite concerned about his form. He just wasn't looking as one w the ⚽ . Passing dribbling or shooting… it all looks off. What shud be instinctive actions 4 him on the pitch look totally awful. I'll just hope he comes good this wknd in a BIG way.! I bet Klopp starts the old front3 in tht game.

Drifty go back and watch Gerrard and Alonso they definitely was doing it with Trents regularity and Alonso was more creative and Trents 23 hell be 24 this year hell go down as one of the best potentially but he isn't there now

Diaz is a real threat it’s almost making up for how less of a threat Mane has been for his high standards of goals he’s put up. He admitted it himself. I’m surprised Klopp didn’t rest Robbie didn’t need to play Tskitmas isn’t much of a drop off honestly you could arguably say he’s been abit better then Robbo

Job done and an incredible away European win. Delighted about the result but certainly room for improvement. Our performance in the first half was excellent. Konate, Mane and Diaz with the goals. Trent Alexander Arnold is world class🔥 Bring on Manchester City💪🏻 @LFC YNWA🔴

Drift add to what you said on Salah, in the game at Senegal for qualifiers he was harrased and disrespected by the Senegalese fans (insulted and thrown bottles at).

Also you have no idea the stress and 100 + million people in Egypt judging and slandering him thinking our national team is like our golden generation or close to other better generations lying to themselves.

I'm glad I'm not Klopp to put lineup 😁 .. I'm so stressed to watch the City game, my heart can't take it, football will be the death of me lol

Somewhat agree with Drift on the Trent thing, if Trent stays at Liverpool for most of his career I think he will be regarded as Liverpool’s best ever passer, not just yet though still think Gerrard had that consistency of quality passing

The beauty of our system is that Trent always has space for his pings. Alonso did this in midfield which is a lot harder; Trent is not great in tight spaces nor press resistant (his passing helps him in such instances), he should def try and improve his drobbling
