Should just do a 64 team comp. 8 groups of 8, with at least one champion from each nation, and more spaces designated to the leagues with the strongest coefficients. Winner of each group automatically into the last 16, 2nd place into the 2nd play-offs and 3rd/4th into initial play-offs. Then you have more games between the big clubs with genuine rewards for finishing as high as possible (meaning less competitive games and tiring season), plenty of knock-out stage football, and also allow atleast 1 champion of every nation in Europe a fair pop at the main European stage. A proper Champions League.

° Jeder der 54 Landesmeister muss die Teilnahmemöglichkeit haben!
° höchstens 18 Nichtlandesmeister
Teilnehmer: 36 Mannschaften
Gruppenphase: 6 Gruppen zu jeweils 6 Mannschaften
° 5 Gruppenspiele je Mannschaft
° mindestens 2 Heimspiele und mindestens 2 Auswärtsspiele
° 5. Gruppenspiel: Heimrecht für die in der Gruppe höherplatzierte Mannschaft
K. O. Phase
° VF + HF jeweils 2 Spiele, ES: 1 Spiel
° 2 Spielbaumhälften
^ Grupperste und Gruppenzweite der selben Gruppe in verschiedenen Hälften
* Viertfelfinale: 6 Gruppenerste + 2 beste Gruppenzweite

6 by 6 is OK with me but….
Being in an 18 team league and randomly play only 10 is not right in so many ways that I can't even know from how to start…
The second system if awfull and a disaster… I hop ethey will do a 6×6 and keep it as we know it…
I prefer the Swiss system.
That more interesting and clearer.
The 8 first teams of each league will go to play off.
So the goal will be to finish at least 8th.
And maybe the futur winner had finished 7th!

Keep original group stage, then make it straight knockout apart from the semi final (11 games instead of 13) I hope the stadiums are virtually empty with this new boring fornat
If the system is not broken why bother fixing it or tweaking it
Swiss System is more fun. You will see more big clashes early.
champions league is becoming more and more about 3 countries when there is more than 40 champions in europe in each countrie its so monopolized
Instead of 6 teams in each group why not just add 1 team to each of the 8 groups?
6 teams in each group means more fixtures so that'll be a problem for teams. Also, having 8 groups also means the current knockout rounds will continue to exist.
I am not generally a big fan of the reforms and the new format. Maybe I will start liking it, but in my opinion, it's unnecessary so far.
